People with textured hair were conditioned not to love their hair from generation to generation. We were always told that our hair wasn’t “socially acceptable” “inappropriate for work or school” “Couldn’t grow past our shoulders”, “Only looked nice when it was tamed (relaxed, straightened, braided or twisted)”. But the truth is our hair is beautiful in its uniqueness. Our hair is the only hair that defies gravity and our hair is delicate and requires special care.
As children, we all had to struggle with the battle of doing our hair and many of us have experienced bullying, racial abuse and shame for just simply being born this way.
Over the years people with textured hair have been mentally damaged and conditioned to believe that their hair is a problem, and many have neglected its beauty.
